You can now generate, complete, and mail lien rights documents directly in Siteline—including documents like Preliminary Notices or Notices to Owner—using the Lien Rights Management feature.
If you need help on using the Lien Rights Management feature to track your project's requirements, check out this article.
Instead of filling these out manually, you can digitize your existing compliance templates into Siteline forms and reuse them across projects, just like pay app forms.
What You’ll Do in This Workflow
Digitize your lien rights documents as Siteline forms
Generate and complete (or upload) documents for a specific project
Download, print, or mail documents
Step 1: Create Your Lien Rights Forms
Before you can generate documents for a project, you’ll need to create your forms in Siteline. You can do this from either location below.
Option A: Create Forms from the Form Library
Go to Company Settings → Form Library (Click your company name dropdown in the upper right, then Company Settings, then the Form Library tab.)
Click Add New Form
Upload your lien rights document (such as Preliminary Notice or Notice to Owner) and select Compliance as the form type. Finally click Submit Forms after completing all fields.
Wait until the form is available like other forms in Siteline.
You can learn more about how to use the Form Library in this article.
Option B: Create Forms from Lien Rights
Open the Lien Rights Tracker under the Compliance header in the navigation bar
From the Projects screen, click the three vertical dots in the upper-right corner and select Add New Forms
Upload and digitize your compliance document similarly to the steps above.
Step 2: Start Document Creation for a Project
Select a project first (or you can skip to the next step if you want to use the action like Add filing date from the projects screen)
Locate the appropriate action under the lien rights milestones, such as Add filing date (in this example we'll file a notice to owner)
The confirmation dialog box will appear.
If you've already filed and want to upload the completed documentation for a system of record, choose Upload completed document. Once uploaded, this keeps a clean record in Siteline without recreating the document.
If you need to create the document, choose Generate and complete. This is the action we'll take for the next steps.
Search for your previously created template form (in step 1) from the form library and then click Generate form.
On the form workflow screen, complete the required fields and signatures to make the document specific to this project. You can use the Next field button in the upper right to instantly skip directly to the fields that needs completed.
Once all fields are completed, review the document one last time. The Next field button will then turn into a Complete forms button.
Step 3: Complete the Form (Download, Print, or Mail)
After completion, you can:
Download the document
Print the document
Send the Document through USPS
Select the Send button in the upper right after generating a document.
On the Mail screen, you can edit the from/return if you need to update your return address. To select the who the mail is going to, select +Add Recipient.
On the Add recipient screen, fill in address information (email not required). Once completed, click Add.
You'll then return back to the Mail screen with available printing and shipping options. Select the Save button.
Lastly, verify all information is correct and select Send notice.
