If your email could not be delivered

Written by Bradley LaFave

If you received an email from us that says, “We tried to send an email on your behalf but it could not be delivered,” it means that the email never made it to its intended recipient.

Why was your email not delivered?

If you receive an email from Siteline stating that your email could not be delivered, it is usually either:

  1. The email was not typed in correctly- maybe their name was typed in wrong or their company address was typed in wrong.

  2. Siteline is not on the allow list or authenticated list. This mean you will need to ask your recipient if they can talk to the IT team to add our website domain (@siteline.com) to the allow or authenticated list for their email server

Sample of errors that you might see:

Error dialing remote access address

Perhaps the email address is wrong- you may want to double check the spelling of the company you tried to email!

550 Invalid Recipient

Perhaps the email address recipient is typed incorrectly- you may want to double check the spelling of the person you tried to email!

Recipient address rejected: Access denied

The recipient’s email server rejected Siteline’s email. You’ll want to ask their IT team to add our website domain (@siteline.com) to the allow/ authenticated list for their email server!

550 is not currently permitted to relay through this server
