Siteline + Sage 300 CRE - Setup (hh2)

One-time setup for the Siteline + Sage 300 CRE integration via hh2

Written by Bradley LaFave

This page covers setup for the hh2 connector. If you connect to Sage 300 CRE via Agave, follow Setup (Agave) instead. Your Siteline contact will tell you which one applies to your account.

Intended audience: IT and accounting teams. This page covers the one-time setup required to connect Sage 300 CRE to Siteline via hh2. Day-to-day billing workflows are covered on the Usage page.

Sage 300 CRE is an on-premise application, so the integration relies on hh2's Sync Client running on your Sage server. hh2 installs and configures the Sync Client for you on a short screen-share call — there's no software for your team to build or maintain. Your part is to accept hh2's terms, share a few contacts, and make sure the right person is on the install call.

Step 1: Accept the hh2 EULA

Review and accept hh2's End User License Agreement on behalf of your company:

hh2 has completed several security and compliance audits and can provide documentation on request if your IT or security team needs it.

Step 2: Send Siteline your contacts

Provide the following to your Siteline contact so we can coordinate the install with hh2:

  • Estimated annual revenue

  • Technical contact — name, title, email, phone. This must be someone (on your team or your outsourced IT provider) who has administrator access to your Sage server, since the Sync Client is installed there.

  • Admin contact — name, title, email, phone.

Step 3: Confirm your Sage server meets hh2's requirements

Before the install, have your IT contact review the Server Specifications section of hh2's tech specs:

If you already have an hh2 Sync Client installed for another integration, ask your IT contact to update it to the latest version before the install call.

Step 4: Attend the install call

Siteline schedules a call with hh2 to install the Sync Client on your Sage server. Plan for 45–60 minutes, and make sure both your implementation contact and your technical contact (the one with Sage server admin access) can attend. hh2 drives the installation during the call.

Step 5: Allow 1–2 days for the initial sync

After the install, hh2 runs an initial sync of your Sage data up to the cloud. This is not instant — it can take 1–2 days for all of your projects, contracts, vendors, and cost data to become available in Siteline.

Don't try to import projects or sync invoices immediately after the install call. If the initial sync is still running, you'll see incomplete data or errors. Siteline will confirm once everything is ready.

After setup

Once the initial sync completes, you're ready to import projects and start billing. From then on, the Sync Client refreshes your Sage data once an hour, and invoices sync to Sage on demand whenever you click Sync invoice to Sage. See the Usage page for the day-to-day workflow.
