From the Invoice page, you can calculate how much you’re billing in excess of your costs. Using your cost data, we calculate over/under billing by comparing your earned revenue to the amount you have billed on your project. Earned revenue is calculated based on the percentage completion of your project, which is based on how much cost has been incurred compared to your current budget.
Here's the formula used to calculate it:
Completion % = [Cost to date] / [Cost budget]
Earned revenue = [Completion %] * [Contract Value]
Over/under billing = [Earned Revenue] - [Total billed]
If your earned revenue exceeds the amount you’ve billed on the project you will be under billed, and if the amount billed exceeds your earned revenue, you will be over billed.
Calculating over/under billing
To see how much you may be over or under billing, head to the invoice of any pay app and click OVER/UNDER.
If you use Sage 300 CRE, Sage 100 Contractor or Foundation to track project costs, you can use the integration with Siteline to calculate over/under billing automatically.
If you do not have an integration, or you do not track project costs in your ERP, you can manually enter cost information. You can also manually add additional committed costs if you would like.
You can clear cost information and either re-sync it to your ERP, or re-enter it manually, at any time.
